The Community Energy Association manages this list as part of providing a first stop for BC local governments on climate and energy. The Community Energy Association was established through a Memorandum of Understanding between the Province of BC and the Union of BC Municipalities to support local governments.
LIST GOALS: Provide staff and elected officials with an easy way to share, learn, and copy from other local governments on climate and energy. Ask questions. Connect with other local governments. Accelerate action. Avoid re-inventing the wheel. Develop the community of local government people interested in climate and energy.
LIST TOPICS: Anything to do with climate and energy in a local government context: energy efficient land-use planning, transportation, buildings, infrastructure, green generation, energy in OCP's, resoultions, bylaws, zoning, etc.
PARTICIPANTS: Access to this list is restricted to government staff and elected officials at the local, provincial and federal levels. A small number of organizations with recognized relevant expertise may also participate in this list.
VOLUME: This list is expected to have a relatively LOW volume but HIGH quality of messages. This depends on what questions you ask of the list and what responses you provide.
